4. Frequent asked questions (FAQ)
a. Is my password secured?
b. How is my computer screen secured?
c. Does web conference compromise my firewall protection?
e. How do I retrieve my lost password?
a. Is my password secured?
Yes. Your user password and the meeting password for remote access to my PC
are stored in our secured database
in a not-reversible encrypted format. As a result, you need to make sure you use a
correct email address in this system in order to recover your user password.
Our support staff cannot access any encrypted passwords. This includes
recovering meeting password for remote access to my PC. If you forget your
meeting password, just create another meeting.
b. How is my computer screen secured?
After you start a meeting, you can allow the meeting attendees to see your screen.
You can pause the meeting anytime during a meeting. You can also limit showing one specific application rather than the entire desktop.
Screen image is encrypted in a proprietary format before it is transmitted to other attendees to view.
Other participants can control your mouse and keyboard only after you explicitly
assign
them to do so. This ensures better privacy control, and puts the host in total control of the meeting.
c. Does web conference compromise my firewall protection?
GoMeetNow does not change any settings of your firewall and does not compromise
the firewall. The meeting component downloaded is a passive component and runs only after you activate it by starting/joining a meeting.
e. How do I retrieve my lost password?
Click the “(Forget password?)” link under the Login button at the login page. Then,
enter your email address. The system will send you a new password. After you use the new password, click
“Profile” at the left panel and reset the password to a password that
you can remember.
